The lowdown: the sci-fi action role-playing game is back – but the big news this time is that it comes with a multiplayer co-op mode.
Mass
Effect 3's epic campaign is one thing (more on that next month), but
the multiplayer co-op is the series' big innovation. Starting as a
human, you and three chums liberate critical conflict zones crawling
with hostiles and unlock more classes and playable races to take their
unique combat abilities to war. You'll also get better weapons, armour,
various boosters and upgrade kits – although, as the term 'co-op'
suggests, teamwork is everything. Best of all, however, the co-op mode
can help to increase your readiness for the final battle in the main
campaign. |

The biggest multiplayer shooter in the world has now received an online
service to match it – with all of your career stats and personal bests
in one place, customisable loadouts that sync with the game, official
weapon guides, heat maps and weapon performance, public groups and
Facebook. Quite some feature list, but there's more:
The
Call of Duty: MW3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite kicks off this
month first on Xbox LIVE. From January through September, Call of Duty
Elite premium members on Xbox LIVE will receive regular updates of all
new content totalling at least 20 content drops. The first two content
drops, multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza will be available to
premium members first on Xbox LIVE on January 24th. |

The Xbox Companion is a new app for Windows Phone that lets you control
your Xbox and find the entertainment you want to watch or play on your
TV.
Think
of it as a super-smart remote: connect it to your Xbox 360, and then
use your phone's keyboard to search Xbox LIVE for the movies, tunes and
games you want. You can get more info about your search results – cast,
story and so forth – and the best part is it's absolutely free. |
